Venus in Aquarius ♀ Dec 7 – Jan 2
Dec 7, 2024 – Jan 2, 2025
Venus in Capricorn has been holding us down like a mighty tree this last week. She is an anchor, a guide, a paperweight in the storm. Capricorn is pragmatic, always planning for the future. Now we are thinking about work, structure, and longterm plans. Because Capricorn knows the power of networking, we gather to learn and share ideas around the solstice fire. Venus in Capricorn is an emotionally conservative yet materially abundant time. Soon Capricorn’s stoic goaty-ness will fade into the cold, hard earth. What comes next feels completely different. Aquarius is exciting and electric. This air energy moves erratically, spreading alien messages across the tundra.
One thing noticeably absent during Aquarian transits is predecessor Capricorn’s trademark anxiety. Aquarius does not spend so much time worrying about terrestrial plans. Her plans are much bigger. They are so original and unprecedented that they are not bound by the same earthly limitations Capricorn must consider.
Where Capricorn needs certainty, Aquarius only needs a moment of opportunity. This mindset is more than just optimism or luck. This is a superpower of the human mind. It is a state that we can enter when we feel highly energized and confident. It is the state in which the law of attraction thrives.
Another aspect you will notice missing during this transit is the normal human emphasis on Selfhood. Aquarius is less interested in her own story or journey. Her life is colored instead by flashes of insight and creativity. She is a channel through which strange, brilliant phenomena appear.
Keep in mind that Aquarian journeys are inherently bumpy and uncomfortable. Venus in Aquarius will blast our relationships with change after change after change. These changes force us act in ways that we did not previously anticipate. Aquarian life is fast and unpredictable, the results unforeseen. My best advice is to lean heavily into these changes. We will discover that we actually feel more confident and independent when we swallow Aquarius’ glittering turquoise tonic.
Venus in Aquarius will effectively alter the way we feel about at least one important relationship, if not several. Our perspective will shift so much that we will even develop thoughts and feelings in direct opposition to how we felt before. This is a very important juncture. Your response to this cognitive dissonance determines the outcome. Will your brain attempt to reconcile these new contradictory feelings? Or will you make the recommended edits and leave something behind?
This is an excellent time to travel and/or get out of our comfort zone. There will be many opportunities to meet new people, especially those from other countries or cultural backgrounds. This transit is going to feel a bit scattered. Just remember that Venus in Aquarius is attempting to introduce new concepts and realities. Keep an open mind and consider these new entities carefully instead of immediately rejecting them out of fear.
This is a favorable time for people with natal planets & points in Aquarius, as well as Aries, Gemini, Libra, and Sagittarius.
Heads up: Mercury will be retrograde for the first week of this transit and Mars Retrograde in Leo kicks off the day before.
Dec 7 (1st day of transit): Venus conjunct Pluto in Aquarius + last day of Neptune Retrograde in Pisces. Pluto’s influence is intense, emotional, and often out of control. Events can unfold forcefully and unexpectedly. BIG feelings coming up. Take necessary emotional precautions to invite a feeling of calm within and without. Treat this conjunction like you would an incoming storm. This conjunction also coincides with an opposition between the Sun in Sagittarius and Jupiter Retrograde in Gemini. Pressure on Jupiter indicates that we need to manage expectations. Not conducive for travel.
Dec 12: Venus opposite Mars Rx in Leo. Emotional and social dysfunction. Feeling at odds. Anger bubbles up with pressure on Mars.
Dec 15: Full Moon in Gemini + Mercury Retrograde ends ✨
Dec 19: Venus trine Jupiter Rx in Gemini. Happy and energetic. Hopes, dreams, & expectations up for review in our relationships.
Dec 21: Winter Solstice / beginning of Capricorn Season ❄️ 3:20 am CDT
Dec 24: Jupiter Rx square Saturn in Pisces. We just saw this aspect on Aug 19 when Jupiter was direct, so this is round 2. Jupiter-Saturn squares ask us to confront our personal conception of how capable we are. Saturn rules duty and responsibility. Opportunities will come our way but the question is: am I ready to take it on? Saturn’s influence (read: pressure!) indicates a period of major growth. It is an excellent time to take risks, start something new, and/or enter into a new career. We will exit this square feeling more mature and more prepared to handle the inherent difficulty of life. In other words: adulting! Big themes: work; purpose; place; structure.
Dec 28: Venus square Uranus in Taurus. Depression & weirdness. Not conducive for communication or socializing. Avoid excessive screen time. All things bizarre, unsettling, and unusual. Routine thrown off. Cancellations common; new plans in order.
