Itâs been nothing but lunar eclipses and supermoons since 2018 when it comes to full moons in Capricorn, and here we are with yet another supermoon. Sooo much deep emotional work taking place in this constellation over the last few years.
The July full moon is called the Buck Moon because it coincides with new antler growth on young deer. It is also called the Thunder Moon for summertime storms. Moonrise at sunset, peak at midnight, moonset at sunrise all over the world.
Sun and moon oppose one another in homebody Cancer and longevity-oriented Capricorn. These constellations speak to home, work, purpose, and the relation between internal and external. Though they express it in different ways, both archetypes yearn to put down roots and get settled early in life. A partner is usually part of what it means to be settled, but really this supermoon is about what makes us feel at home within ourselves. Itâs about (self) love and commitment (to self).
When we are balanced as individuals at the full moon, we observe tension around us rather than within us. Tension here centers around marital/family life. This is a great time to set and reinforce boundaries.
One thing I can guarantee is that this full moon will be busy. Capricorn always takes on way more than he can handle. You might be moving in to a new home, taking classes, picking up extra work, or all of the above. Itâs summertime on the farm and ranchers are moving and grooving. Plants are growing. Form and structure come to fruition. People are here to visit, eat, stay the night. Itâs really important to rest during all this activity so you donât kill your adrenals.
Itâs not just the body that needs protection, but the psyche too. The full moon in Capricorn proves to be powerful year after year. This is not surprising, considering that Cancer rules the moon. But Cancer-Capricorn is not just the lunar axis. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the economist and architect of the solar system. Capricorn/Saturn is all about building infrastructure and communal systems.
Psychic and physical energy increase significantly at every full moon. Emotions and intuition will be heightened. Though this full moon is an apex in many ways, Luna is in her âdetrimentâ in Capricorn, the sign opposite the one she rules (Cancer). When a planet is in detriment, its energies are weak and strained. Great news: this supermoon forms a supportive trine to Jupiter in Taurus. This influence is energizing, full of hope and optimism. Expect lots of movement, travel, and activity. Body and mind flow as one. Mega earth energy coming your way.
