In the final quadrant of the zodiac, we arrive at Capricorn the Sea Goat. Capricorn is the last earth sign in the wheel, representing the culmination of all that we’ve worked on since the spring equinox. It’s time to reflect, adapt, and then forge ahead with more focus and clarity.

But first, a message for all the Capricorns: relax. Tune out the inner critic and remember how fucking awesome you are. You don’t need to stress. You don’t need to worry. Everything is going to be ok.

Capricorn season coincides with all kinds of holidays and traditions around the world. The most emblematic is the Winter Solstice. This is Capricorn’s debut, when the earth goes to sleep, when light slips through her fingers and the cold sets in. Sleep and stillness hold so much power. This is the seed-like nature of Capricorn, vibrating with life even in hibernation.

The sea-goat moves at one of two speeds: insanity or total stillness. If you have lots of earth energy in your chart, overcoming inertia is difficult at this time of year. Spend time in the sun. Try adding ginger, citrus, cinnamon, hot chilies, and turmeric to your diet.

Heads up: Mars will be retrograde for the duration of Capricorn Season, first in Leo and then back in Cancer from Jan 6 onward.

Jupiter-Saturn squares ask us to confront our personal conception of how capable we are. Saturn rules duty and responsibility. Opportunities will come our way but the question is: am I ready to take it on? Saturn’s influence (read: pressure!) indicates a period of major growth. It is an excellent time to take risks, start something new, and/or enter into a new career. We will exit this square feeling more mature and more prepared to handle the inherent difficulty of life. In other words: adulting! Big themes: work; purpose; place; structure.
