Saturn in Pisces ♄ 2023-2026
artist: Mateo Pizarro
Mar 7, 2023 – Feb 13, 2026
Saturn enters Pisces, the sign of creativity and metamorphosis. I will talk about this at length in a moment. First a recap of Saturn in Aquarius from March 2020 – present.
Saturn in Aquarius was my first Saturn Return and holy shit…I hardly have the words. What I wrote back in early 2020 was more true than I ever could have believed: “I feel in my marrow that something unexpected is coming our way, and it’s beautiful, it’s good, it’s what we’ve been crying out for, what our hearts have been trying to manifest.”
Saturn in Aquarius has been explosive, expansive, turbulent; adventurous, contagious, fearless. How to wrap our minds around the pandemic alone, which began just as Saturn was entering Aquarius? It will forever be the hallmark of Saturn in Aquarius, the moment we never forget. This transit was so incredibly striking and monumental; everything changed.
Saturn rules our career/life plan/long-term goals. Those of us born with Saturn in Aquarius take a very different approach to structure and professional goals. We’re skeptical; we question the status quo. Why do something just because other people are doing it? And now we have all been rocked to our core – ready or not – entire trajectory upended, path radically altered. Those who are bold and daring have embraced this magic and turned it into potent medicine.
Saturn in Aquarius is the antithesis of complacency and normalcy. We can no longer work, love, or live as we did before. We are reaching far far into the future now, into our wildest dreams. We are proving to ourselves that we, too, have the power as individuals to make radical change in our lives. We are not simply subject to change.
Now Saturn in Pisces, a continuation of this journey at the end of the zodiac. We have good reason to be both excited and nervous. Pisces is nebulous and murky. The pace will be slower now, much slower, and this will cause frustration after such a dynamic transit through Aquarius over the last 3 years. Those born with Saturn in Pisces will have their Saturn Return now. These flower children are drifters and dreamers. It takes them a very long time, if ever, to find a “career” or life path. And we’re all going to experience this feeling now, like being lost at sea, bobbing on a wave, or perhaps on a desert island, wondering how the hell we are going to get off.
We will need a tool kit to survive this hazy time and we’ll need to use it every damn day. We will need: patience, understanding, and flexibility. We will need music and dancing and creative release. We will need to give ourselves permission to wander, to try new things, to say yes, to say no. A strong current is coming our way and, similar to Saturn in Aquarius, there is absolutely nothing we can do to direct its flow. Remember that Pisces is the very last sign in the zodiac. This is the river carrying us to the ocean, my loves, and there are going to be lots of twists and turns and emotions and absolute ecstasy and also many moments where we wonder wtf we are doing.
Pisces tends to hide, to avoid, to evade. There is a healthy amount of discomfort to work through here, on many levels. It’s going to show up in our work, in the way that we choose to support ourselves, the ways in which we create stability and security. This is Saturn’s domain, after all. It’s also going to show up on a deeply emotional and spiritual level. This is a time of great reckoning, a time in which we must face ourselves, our rawest fears and insecurities. So when you feel the impulse to swim away, stop and ask yourself the hard questions.
Saturn in Pisces will teach us how to trust ourselves and, inevitably, a higher power too. This transit is designed as an extrication of doubt. Out with doubt, in with confidence. We will succeed during this transit if we find a way to cultivate strength and resilience. Stay very focused here. Think coping skills, honesty, and radical acknowledgement. Trust me, the faster you try to swim way, the more vicious the whirlpool becomes. So for real, don’t even try.
If we can accept this wavy reality – that these next three years are actually a very quiet, reflective time – then we will save ourselves so much heartache. This is not a time to push ahead. It’s time to make sense of the last 27 years, bro. That’s a long time. Be easy on yourself, stay open, be real. Lean into your creative practices. Give yourself permission to live your life as the artist you were always meant to be. There’s really never been a better time. Likewise there’s never been a better time to examine (co)dependencies. Guess what? You get to prioritize your own happiness. You don’t have to take care of your partner; you don’t have to work yourself to the bone; you don’t have to sacrifice your wellbeing anymore.
