Every month the moon spins into the same constellation as the sun. This lunar-solar conjunction is what we call a new moon. This month the moon and sun sparkle together in vivacious Sagittarius.

It’s time to acknowledge another incredibly difficult year and see if we can find a way to feel better internally. The New Moon in Sagittarius is all about moving forward. Sometimes this means major change is in order. But that’s great because under Sagittarian skies, life feels fun and exciting again. We’re opting for a more expansive, optimistic perspective now; change is good, change is healthy.

Though new moons usually make us feel tired, this is not true in Sagittarius. The centaur is known, among other things, for his contagious enthusiasm. Sagittarian energy is lively and joyful. We can channel this into festive, seasonal activities and welcome loved ones into our homes.

Sagittarius stretches our mind and life to incorporate new ideas, new perspectives, and new thoughts. This is an incredibly busy time of year. Although fast and furious, the fires of Sagittarius help us begin again. You can throw it all in the flames, all your pain and heartbreak. Let it disappear into the sky.

Mercury Retrograde will be fully operational at this new moon so we need to expect some dysfunction: miscommunication, sudden change of plans, tech malfunction, etc. Furthermore, mis amores, the moon squares not just the sun but also Saturn in Pisces. This puts pressure on the mind and expectations in the form of self-criticism. You may be feeling inadequate in some kind of way but know that this uncomfortable feeling will pass.
