New Moon in Libra ♎ Sep 25, 2022
Sunday, Sep 25 at 2.54 pm PDT
Every month the moon spins into the same constellation as the sun. This lunar-solar conjunction is what we call a new moon. This month the new moon falls in the constellation of Libra the Scales. Libra is an air sign representing love, relationships, and community. It is time to practice peace, tact, and honesty.
New moons are new beginnings. This time we’re asked to consider our relationships to the people with whom we co-create. Can you bring more grace to your communication? Can you take accountability and at the same time raise up your voice and demand accountability from others?
Libra: daughter of Uranus (Father Sky) and Mother Earth; poised and gleaming; tall and proud. Libra comes from the Greek goddess Themis, whose name translates to “divine law.” Themis is often depicted blindfolded, wielding a sword to cut through delusion.
Libra is known as an agent of balance but sometimes she sees everything in black and white. With sword in hand, we have a choice. We can cut the world in two, pushing all that we see and feel into one category or the other, or we can dig deeper to understand the real meaning of the sword.
Libra’s sword is not a weapon. It is designed to unearth truth and draw boundaries. These lines are not meant to isolate or devalue. To set boundaries is to love yourself and others. Boundaries are a form of communication. They are necessary and beneficial for everyone. Through boundary-setting we simultaneously heal our relationship to self and others.
Our relationships are no more than a reflection of ourselves and who we are. Interpersonal discord reflects inner discord. Everyone we meet is a teacher, illuminating our personal strengths and weaknesses. The people who irritate us most are just showing us the parts of ourselves that haven’t matured enough yet to be an impartial witness!
***Heads up: Mercury will be retrograde at this time***
This new moon will oppose Jupiter Retrograde in Aries. The trick to this one is simply maintaining reasonable/realistic expectations. If we get our hopes up too high, we’re bound to be disappointed. Hard aspects to Jupiter make life feel unfair or unlucky. As long as we are not too ambitious or overly optimistic, we’ll sail through this one just fine. The good news is that this new moon coincides with a very grounding trine between Venus in Virgo and Pluto Rx in Capricorn.
love ~ peace ~ harmony ~ community ~ communication ~ interconnectedness
