Happy full moon! Happy lunar eclipse! The November full moon is called the Frost Moon or Beaver Moon. The moon will rise at sunset, peak at midnight and set at sunrise all over the world.
Eclipses can be full or partial. The earth’s shadow consists of two parts: the shadow cast directly behind the earth is called the umbra, and the fainter, fan-like shadow surrounding the umbra is the penumbra. This full moon is another partial (or penumbral) eclipse – we actually won’t see another total lunar eclipse until May 2021. Moon gazers in north/western Europe, north/eastern Asia, Oceania, North America, and South America will have the best view!
Moon and sun oppose one another in curious Gemini and jolly Sagittarius: the critic vs. the optimist. This full moon brings lots of travel and movement.
Who calls your name: is it Gemini, ruler of logic and research? Or Sagittarius, working off pure spirit and faith in humanity? Too much Gemini makes us cold and calculating; too much Sagittarius makes life feel hurried and uninformed.
We are all in the process of examining our beliefs, intentions, and biases in this crazy world right. People with excellent intentions can be very ignorant. And people armed with tons of research and information can be insensitive or have negative intentions. This is the shadow of the Gemini-Sagittarius axis.
Find a way to deliver the message in a non-inflammatory way. And if you’re the one receiving the message, be humble. When we feel upset, we have to ask – which belief of mine is being challenged right now? Can I change this belief? Can I follow it, like a taproot in the soil, all the way to its origin?
The winter holidays are really challenging. What happens naturally is that we turn inward, like the sun dipping below the horizon into the endless black of spacetime. Where this will take us, we do not know. We come with questions and no answers.
