Jupiter turns retrograde for 4 months each year. Jupiter Retrograde is when we go back and revisit lessons of a spiritual or philosophical nature. This is a journey of personal, inward growth. Normally Jupiter operates on a larger scale, guiding the arc of shared human destiny. During the retrograde, we seek the highest version of ourselves. This year the entire Jupiter Retrograde transit falls in the constellation of earth sign Taurus, where Jupiter has been spinning since May 16, 2023.

Jupiter Retrograde in Taurus is going to amplify our current search for our physical home – and, more importantly – our home within self & soul. We are on a mission right now to find our place within and without. We are craving a nest, a forever home, our dream home. We are yearning for a patch of soil to grow roots. Jupiter Rx in Taurus is a meditation on place and belonging. The earth, plants, clouds, food, animals – they want to know, where do you feel most nourished and healthy?

Taurus is not a speedy creature by any means. Progress appears to slow at this time; unprecedented patience is necessary. When in doubt, we need to look at our predicament from different angles and drink fervently from a Jupiterian-sized cocktail of hope, enthusiasm, and optimism.

In the meantime we will continue to have many beautiful experiences. Aesthetic and abundance well up mysteriously from deep within the earth. Comfort and ease; texture and aroma. Rest & relaxation. Vacation vibes.

And at the same time this decidedly sloth vibe will work on us from the inside out, pressuring us to take action. The soul needs grounding and stability like never before. How are we going to secure that in the material world? Where will we channel our energy to create longevity? Home & work are up for review in autumn/winter 2023.

Time spent recovering in stillness gives way now to an exciting restlessness, the kind which produces astonishing results. We’re going to start to see major forward motion by late March 2024. Hold tight until then, trust in the process. Take your time, think it over like Taurus does best. Feel her solid, pragmatic energy guiding you through the brambles.

There is something very very new here, some bold sketch of something rough and scary and brilliant. Jupiter Retrograde in Taurus is ready to continue up the mountain, ready to elaborate on the draft. We have completely started over. We get to decide: who is this brand new person with this brand new life?

What is most essential and basic rises to the fore once more. We need to feel at home; we need to feel safe, comfortable, at peace. Jupiter Retrograde in Taurus stitches us back to the earth, back to our senses, back to our most basic needs. It is time to dig in the dirt and work with our hands. It is time to eat and cook and replenish our physical and emotional energy.

The next big Jupiterian event coming up is next year on Apr 20, 2024, after the retrograde has ended. On this day Jupiter will be conjunct Uranus in Taurus. This conjunction comes just once every 12 years. This is an excellent time to travel, take risks, and/or jump into something entirely new. Everything about this conjunction is progressive and exciting. The soul is extremely ready for change at this juncture. It will likely be drastic, like moving to a new place, quitting your job, or leaving your partner. Wherever you are in life, the spirit demands freedom. Move, groove, shake loose. The planets are with you; you cannot fail.
