Happy full moon! Happy Halloween! Who doesn’t love a full moon on Halloween? This is the second full moon in October, making it a blue moon. The October full moon is also called the Hunter’s Moon. The moon will rise at sunset, peak at midnight and set at sunrise all over the world, no matter your time zone.

Sun and moon oppose one another in Taurus and Scorpio. This full moon heralds definitive change. Scorpio pushes us to make life-altering decisions. While Taurus walks with sure feet, Scorpio slinks low to the ground at midnight. Scorpio is volatile and complex, snarling with fear. The lessons of this full moon revolve around power and control, and at its heart: self-control.

This full moon looks pretty crazy because Luna will be almost exactly conjunct Uranus Retrograde in Taurus. Uranian influence is highly unusual and unpredictable. It’s not even within my scope to say what will or will not happen, just that you absolutely cannot expect things to go according to plan. Just one hour after the full moon is exact, the Scorpio sun will be in total opposition to Uranus. The only thing I can guarantee is that there will be strange/unexpected events or sensations.

So what can we focus on to distract ourselves from the insanity of Uranus? Taurus and Scorpio both seek a life of quality. The sacred cow invests most of her energy in the material world. Scorpio seeks quality in the subconscious caverns others avoid. Scorpio reminds the cow that we have an obligation to conquer our fear of the unknown, and Taurus reminds the scorpion to check in and make sure everyone is comfortable.

It is certainly convenient to have a home base at this time, a place to be warm. Winter creeps in day by day. The full moon in Taurus enters at just the right moment with some material comfort. Taurus is tactile, affectionate, and divinely connected to her body. She moves slowly, working in short yet highly productive bursts. Many Taureans create with their hands, sculpting and fortifying with ease. Aesthetic is very important to Taurus. Her favorite things include soft, warm fuzzies; sugar; cats; gourmet food; long showers; and endless sleep. Balanced Taurus is content with only the basics.
