Full Moon in Capricorn #2 🐐 July 21, 2024

On the last full day of Cancer Season 2024, sun and moon oppose one another (again!) in Cancer and Capricorn. We saw round 1 of this full moon configuration exactly one month ago on June 21. Think back to the Summer Solstice to get an idea of what we are about to encounter.

The Cancer-Capricorn axis is about home, work, and purpose. It’s about what makes us feel good & steady on a day-to-day basis. Cancer helps us feel at home within ourselves; Capricorn creates structure in the outside world to make sure that we can maintain our inner sense of wellbeing.

The full moon in Capricorn asks for commitment and discipline. Many of us are scrambling right now to even know what it is that we want in these uncertain times. And if we don’t know what we want, how can we commit?

If we don’t know what we want, we can start by setting limits. We can eliminate what we don’t want.

Capricorn’s industrious energy keeps us busy, preoccupied, eyes on the future. We are feeling motivated here, the trick is just knowing where to direct our energy. The soul wants to be settled, rooted, grounded. The mind wants to learn. The body wants to work. Capricorn helps us to feel proud of ourselves and our accomplishments. He encourages us to plan and strategize – why? Because we are capable. Because the solid earth of Capricorn represents unshakeable confidence.

Cancer comes in with one last final tide, reminding us to rest. We will need it. The spirit needs protection, too. The full moon in Capricorn proves to be very powerful every time.

The first round of this full moon was extremely intense, especially in regards to relationships. It was charged, emotional, volatile. Fortunately this time the moon will form a beautiful sextile to Neptune Retrograde in Pisces, framing Luna in a dreamy backdrop. I wish you ease & release.
