Just one day after Summer Solstice 2024, sun and moon oppose one another in homebody Cancer and Capricorn, the engineer and architect, keeper of time, mechanic of longevity. This full moon speaks to home, work, and purpose. Both of these archetypes want to be settled. Sometimes a partner is part of what it means to be “settled,” but really this full moon is about what makes us feel at home within ourselves. It’s about (self) love and commitment (to self).

When we are balanced as individuals at the full moon, we observe tension around us rather than within us. Tension here centers around marital/family life. Hint: this is a great time to reinforce boundaries.

One thing I can guarantee is that this full moon will be busy. Capricorn always takes on way more than he can handle. You might be moving in to a new home, taking classes, picking up extra work, or all of the above. Longterm structure emerges. It’s really important to rest during all this activity so you don’t kill your adrenals.

It’s not just the body that needs protection, but the psyche too. The full moon in Capricorn proves to be very powerful year after year. This is not surprising, considering that Cancer rules the moon.

Capricorn, on the other hand, is ruled by Saturn, the economist and architect of the solar system. Capricorn/Saturn is all about building infrastructure and communal systems. Capricorn karma runs deep. It lives in the bones of society and the institutions which have survived. It speaks to why these institutions have survived.

Psychic and physical energy increase significantly at every full moon. Emotions and intuition will be heightened. Though this full moon is an apex in many ways, Luna is in her “detriment” in Capricorn, the sign opposite the one she rules (Cancer). When a planet is in detriment, its energies are weak and strained.

This full moon will form a light opposition to Venus in Cancer, indicating strain on the heart. Tread lightly. This full moon was very very intense last year.
